Week 52

This is a work outfit.  It's the same color scheme as Week 34, but winterized.  It's the orange silk Lela Rose jacket and a black cotton pleated Banana Republic skirt worn over a gray cotton Made t-shirt dress and gray tights, with my black Madewell booties.

This is how it looks without the gray tee and belted with a black leather Banana Republic belt.  I love that the jacket develops a cowl neck.  It's more polished closed over and with the belt.  The belt buckle needs to be off to the side in line with the asymmetrical closure.

And we're done!  It's been 52 weeks.  My life now is very different than I thought it would be when I started this blog.  I began it as something to keep me occupied, but over time I grew far busier than I ever expected.  I don't regret neglecting it at times because I was always doing something more fun than blogging.  I do wish that I had featured more of the clothes that I really love and had time to come up with more creative ensembles.  I might pick out my favorites or feature fun new additions to my wardrobe in random future posts, but for now I'm on hiatus.  Thank you to everyone who read this and provided feedback.  Happy New Year!  Love, Blaire

Week 51

This is a casual outfit that I often wore in grad school and still feel comfortable in today.  It's a red and aqua printed top from Anthropologie, a white tank, James jeans, and my red Sam Edelman ballet flats.  The top is blousy, but ties at the waist.  I usually wear it tied in the back.  I like how it looks with dark cuffed jeans and flats.  I've come to really like wearing red and this feels very fresh and clean to me.  In the winter I can just throw a cardigan on over it.

Week 50

This is what I wore on New Year's Eve with a black cardigan.  It's an olive green silk Madewell dress, a skinny gold J. Crew belt, gray tights, and the black suede booties from Week 47.  The dress has tiny bronze beads in a V at the neck.  I love olive green, and I like it combined with gold, gray, and black.  So, I  combined them all.  It was too boring with black tights.

I also like how the belt from Week 40 looks with it.  It's too chunky with a cardigan, though.

Week 49

This is a black turtleneck and leggings under the white Trovata dress from Week 11 with a charcoal gray wool J. Crew cardigan, brown leather DV by Dolce Vita boots, and a brown woven leather Banana Republic belt.  I love light summer dresses layered over black in winter and I love black with brown leather.    I think this becomes a situation where you can layer several neutral colors together and it works.

This is how it looks without the cardigan and with a different Banana Republic belt.  I think the first way is better.

Week 48

I became fixated on getting a thick black and white marled cardigan this winter.  I love the way they look with black skirts and long hair.  This is a wool one from J. Crew with the black skirt from Week 38, cable knit tights, and the black suede booties from Week 47.  I know I said I wanted to move away from black skirts and gray sweaters, but I love it this way.  Also, a note on cable knit tights-they are warmer than pants.  They are essentially leg sweaters and everyone should have them.

Week 47

For a long time I loathed capri pants.  However, I've come around to menswearish cropped chinos.  Here I'm wearing a black and beige polka-dot silk Phillipe Adec top, gray cropped cotton J. Crew chinos, and black suede Madewell booties.  I've had this top for a long time, and I love the shape of it.  I wear it layered over a turtleneck sometimes, and I think it would look cute layered over a buttondown with this.

Weeks 42-46

I'm going to do something a little different this time.  This post is about wearing one dress several different ways.  It's a navy silk J. Crew dress with spaghetti straps, an elasticized waist, and a cream and pink cabbage rose print.  It has a number of shades of pink and I realized that I have so many things that match it.  Here I'm wearing it with a light pink wool J. Crew cardigan, a cream leather belt from the '80s, and coral leather ballet flats.

Here I'm wearing the dress as a skirt under a terra cotta cotton J. Crew tank, with the same cardigan and belt, and the brown Marais USA flats from Week 38.

Here I'm wearing it as a top with a beige cotton Gap cardigan, a pale pink lace Blumarine skirt, and beige BCBG mules.  It feels very Stepford wife to me.

Again I'm wearing it as a skirt under a pink lace and silk Banana Republic tank, the beige cardigan, and a pair of strappy coral Nine West? slingbacks.

And finally, as a skirt again with the tank, belt, slingbacks, and a navy blue wool pinstripe Banana Republic blazer.  With different shoes it would feel less '90s Miami real estate agent.

I think the first two are the only ones that really feel like me, but the others were fun to mix and match.
