Should I keep this skirt? More details forthcoming...
Ok, so the story is that this cotton skirt was on sale for $20 at Anthropologie. I'm by no means in dire need of a new skirt, but I think it would be a really easy thing to throw on in the morning for work year round. I don't have any other plaid skirts like this, probably due to some sort of Catholic school uniform complex I've developed.
Again, this is one of those things where I really like the details and it has fun buttons. This is the waist. It has pockets, double belt loops, and the tab is folded over.
One of the buttons is metal and there is a cute notch. The back is plain with slash pockets.
I'm wearing the skirt with an off-white Sparrow cardigan with blue and green details, ribbed blue J. Crew tights, and Steven oxfords. I don't know if I'd wear the sweater with it. It's kind of button overload, but it was too cold in my apartment when I took the pictures to wear anything else.
These shoes remind me of shoes worn by elderly Italian men in well tailored suits and reappropriated by bicycle-riding women in Milan wearing cuffed pants.
So, keep the skirt? Wear it with this sweater? Wear it with a belt through those funny belt loops? Return it and come up with a better outfit for next week?
Get rid of it. It's not cute.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that whole outfit is way too much like the costume I had to wear in my MDHS production of Anything Goes. You can only wear this while singing Bon Voyage and standing on a badly made set of a 1920s ocean liner. In this scenario the outfit is quite appropriate and stylish.
ReplyDeletei really like those shoes.
